The Nephrology Department at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH) is a multidisciplinary team involved in the care of children with kidney diseases and urinary tract problems including nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, urinary tract infections, hypertension and electrolyte disorders. The team provides a comprehensive diagnostic and management service for children of all ages through all stages of kidney disease up to and including dialysis and kidney transplantation.

Diagnostic services include kidney biopsies and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

Team members provide a consultative service for inpatients and outpatients with regular clinics at SCH and at partner sites throughout NSW. The nephrologists (kidney specialists) work closely with the Urology team, the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at the Royal Hospital for Women and the Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic.

The Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) Kidney Care Centre provides a haemiodialysis service for SCH. POWH has a dedicated child dialysis room that is usually available for children.
