Light rail to transform public transport for Westmead
The Children’s Hospital at Westmead will have its very own light rail stop after the NSW Government today announced the Stage 1 route of the Parramatta Light Rail Project.
The Stage 1 of the light rail will run from Westmead via Parramatta North and the Parramatta CBD, through to Carlingford, with direct stops at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, Westmead Hospital and Westmead Station.
The Light Rail service will complement the Westmead Redevelopment project and is an important addition in making Westmead a central hub for healthcare by the year 2020, benefiting patients, families, staff, students, researchers as well as the wider community.
The Westmead Redevelopment team will continue working closely with its precinct partners and the Parramatta Light Rail team to ensure the new light rail is seamlessly integrated into the redeveloped precinct.
