Randwick Campus Redevelopment Project
The NSW Government has announced an unprecedented investment in health for the Randwick community, committing an additional $220 million for the Randwick Campus Redevelopment project.
The NSW Government is investing $720 million in total to this project which aims to transform the Randwick Campus into one of Australia’s leading providers of health and medical research services.
The funding enables campus partners to progress the vision for a Randwick Health and Education Precinct, which will include the local health district, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and UNSW. The Precinct will be a world leading centre for health and wellbeing, committed to the integration of health, research, education and teaching to drive translation and innovation. The concentration of clinical, scientific and academic minds will be one of the largest in Australia.
At this stage, the investment into the Randwick Campus Redevelopment project will see construction of a new Acute Services Building for Prince of Wales Hospital including a new adult emergency department, extra adult beds, expanded adult rehab and ambulatory care facilities and new shared operating theatres for Prince of Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
