New resource for parents launched
Two year old Alexander and his father Rob (pictured) today attended the launch of 'Haemophilia – a guide for parents of a newly diagnosed child.' Parents anywhere in Australia will receive a copy.of this new resource developed by the Haemophilia Foundation Australia. Families were consulted on the design and experts on the content
It was launched in the Kids Factor Zone at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Dr Julie Curtin, Director, Haemophilia Treatment Centre, Kids Factor Zone was joined by Sharon Caris, Executive Director, Haemophilia Foundation Australia and other representatives from both the Hospital and the Foundation. Two year old patient Elias and his mother Pam also attended.
Haemophilia is a disorder that impairs the body's ability .to create blood clots so bleeding can continue longer after injury or can occur in joints or the brain.
