Party Day for patients and families

Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick turned into a library of favourite children’s and adolescent’s books yesterday for the Hospital’s annual Party Day for patients and families.

Staff immersed themselves in this year’s theme of ‘Story Time’. More than 35 wards and departments were transformed with decorations and the Hospital was filled with the likes of Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Dr Seuss, Peter Pan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and more favourite characters from beloved children’s and adolescent’s books.

There were also themed activities and visitors for patients and families to enjoy, including superhero abseilers, who scaled down the external Hospital walls to say hello to patients through ward windows as they descended down into the Hospital’s playground.

Thank you to all for getting involved, and putting so many smiles on the faces of patients, families and colleagues alike and helping to make Party Day 2017 a great success!

Special thanks to: Matt Falloon, Adam Axford, Beak and Sons, nudie, SunRice, Merlin Entertainments, Wildlife Sydney Zoo, Ropesafe (superhero abseilers), Starlight, Sydney Weavequeen, Shepherds Bakehouse, Live Photography Australia, A Sound Life, NSW Police Force, Beau Champion, Rabbitohs, NSW Waratahs, Clown Doctors, Delta Dogs, Fairy Sparkle, Event Cinemas, Lollilicious, Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, Sweet Dreams Sydney.
