Go Gold for Childhood Cancer

For every child who is diagnosed with cancer, for every parent who hears those four words and for every family who loses someone to the fight – this September is for you.

September is our chance to shine a spotlight on childhood cancer, a disease that affects so many children and families across both The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

As part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network has partnered with the Kids Cancer Project, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation and the Children’s Cancer Institute to host a special candlelight vigil.

The vigil, which is now in its second year, will be held at Sydney Opera House of September 1 to honour every childhood cancer patient and will see the iconic Opera House sails turned gold for the evening. The event will not only recognise the need to do more for children with cancer, but will also share this important message with the world.

All family and friends touched by childhood cancer are invited to be part of this special evening.
