Paediatrics Postgraduate weekend

This is a two-day course for general practitioners. Held annually, the event will highlight current advances in research and practice, and address changes in the management of paedriatric problems. There is an emphasis on small group and case study examination.

Oesophageal Atresia conference

SCHN is hosting the Fourth International Conference on Oesophageal Atresia in Sydney on September 15-16, 2016.

This multidisciplinary conference attracts world leaders from gastroenterology, surgery, ENT, respiratory medicine, dieticians and speech pathologists. Presentation topics will be of interest to people caring for children with OA-TOF as well as those with reflux, tracheomalcia, dysphagia, chronic lung disease, failure to thrive, gastrostomies, role of fundoplication, effect of multiple GA’s, and exposure to radiation due to multiple radiological procedures.

If you are a sub specialist, general paediatrician or a junior staff member with an interest in general paediatrics and sub specialities, then this conference is for you.

The conference needs support by SCHN staff across both sites to ensure its success, so if you'd like to lend a hand, email the Chair of the organising committee.

NeoPaed Conference

This one-day conference is aimed at general paediatricians and nurses/midwives caring for newborn babies in special care nurseries. It's a great opportunity to network and build bridges between the SCNs and NICUs with expert neonatologist speakers from around Australia.

Topics include: Cerebral Palsy prevention and diagnosis; discussion on delayed cord clamping; neonatal sepsis; nutrition; hepatitis and viral infections updates; and a NZ perspective on MIST.

Neopaed Simulation Training Day

In conjunction with the conference a neonatal resuscitation simulation day has been arranged for the day prior. Preference is given to clinicians who work outside the Sydney Metropolitan area.

2017 Course in Paediatrics

The Sydney Children's Hospital Course in Paediatrics has a great track record. Aimed at consultant paediatricians and open to any doctor involved in the care of children, these sessions provide all the 'how to' information needed to stay ahead in paediatric medicine.

  • Course in Paediatrics 1 (SCH, Randwick): lunchtime sessions on Mon 27 March - Wed 29 March.
  • Course in Paediatrics 2 (SCH, Randwick): lunchtime sessions on Thurs 30 March - Sat 1 April.

2017 Sleep Seminar

Held as part of the annual Paediatrics Course at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, this afternoon seminar is aimed at a broad audience including paediatricians, GP paediatricians, neonatologists, trainees and nurses.
