Official ceremonies, BBQs, entertainment and art activities will take place across the Network between 7-19 July to celebrate the 2019 NAIDOC Week theme - Voice.Treaty.Truth: Let’s work together for a shared future.

The National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) says this year’s NAIDOC Week theme acknowledges that ‘Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have always wanted an enhanced role in decision-making in Australian democracy’, and this includes healthcare.

To strengthen the Network’s response to poorer health outcomes for Aboriginal children, the Aboriginal Health Strategic Plan was launched in 2018. Many of the strategic actions are in their early stages but underway, including recent efforts to establish a new Aboriginal Staff Support Network.
