New building at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead opens next week
From Monday 11 May, the new, state-of-the-art Wattle Building at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead will open.
If you’re visiting our hospital, we suggest allowing a little extra time to find your way around as some services have moved.

Getting to the new building
The new Wattle Building is located next door to the building you’ve previously visited.
You can enter the new building from Hawkesbury Road. The entrance connects to the KidsPark forecourt, near MintFresh IGA.
By foot
The building’s main entrance is located via ‘KidsPark’ forecourt corner of Hawkesbury Road and Hainsworth Street, Westmead (Entrance 19).
By car
Visitor parking is available on Hainsworth Street (P6). Access via Hawkesbury Road. A drop-off zone is available at the corner of Hawkesbury Road and Hainsworth Street, Westmead.
Public transport
Bus: There is a bus stop right outside the Hospital.
Train: Westmead train station is about one kilometre away (around 15 minutes’ walk).
Light rail: Hop off at the Children’s Hospital, L4 line.
