Advice for families with booked appointments or elective procedures
If you are planning to come to one of our hospitals and are COVID positive, are a close contact of a COVID-19 case, or have cold-like symptoms, please call ahead to discuss.
Elective surgery - patients are asked to have a rapid antigen test (RAT) up to 24 hours before surgery. A photo of the negative result is to be shown on arrival to day surgery
Outpatient appointments - routine COVID testing is not required for most appointments. If your child needs to have a RAT before coming to hospital, a member of your child's clinical team will let you know in advance. Please contact your child’s treating team if your child becomes symptomatic or is a close contact for COVID-19.
