Feeding problems and dysphagia

What are feeding problems and dysphagia?

Feeding problems in children and infants include:

  • nutrition and feeding problems, including problems with breastfeeding
  • failure to thrive
  • gastro-oesophageal reflux and vomiting or naso-gastric or gastrostomy problems
  • reliance on enternal nutrition

Children with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing, which causes significant problems with feeding

How do we help children who have feeding problems and dysphagia?

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network offer multidisciplinary outpatient services to children with the spectrum of feeding issues and difficulties.
