Neurology and neurosurgery
What are neurological disorders?
Neurological disorders are a disturbance in the structure or function of the central or peripheral nervous system, resulting from developmental abnormality, disease, injury or a toxin.
How do we help children with neurological disorders?
The neurology services within SCHN provide a dedicated and caring service to infants, children and adolescents with neurological disorders involving the brain, spine, nerves and muscles.
SCHN provides world class paediatric neurosurgical services to the children of NSW and the ACT. New neurosurgical treatment options have emerged, such as epilepsy surgery, surgery for spasticity, endovascular treatment for cerebrovascular disorders and image guidance for intracranial tumour surgery.
