Urology at The Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick

Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick’s Urology service provides management of all urological problems, including congenital anomalies of the urinary tract both antenatally and postnatally and genital anomalies, including hypospadias.

This includes the management of all Paediatric kidney stones across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.

Clinic

Clinics run weekly through the outpatient's department.

The clinic provides the following services:

• NSW Centre for Paediatric renal stone management
• All congenital anomalies of the urinary tract (antenatal and postnatal diagnosis)
• Management of paediatric urinary tract infections
• Management of persistent day or night incontinence
• Management of neurogenic bladder

All forms of endoscopic, open and laparoscopic urological surgery are offered at Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Referrals and appointments

New bookings

Please fax your referral to 9382 1787 or email it to SCHN-SCH-Urology@health.nsw.gov.au. An appointment letter will be sent in the mail. Please make sure your contact details are included in the referral.

• You'll need either a current referral from your GP (referral valid for 12 months), paediatrician (referral valid 3 months) or other referring specialist (valid for 3 months).
• Please bring the results of any previous investigations including ultrasounds and urine tests, unless they have been done within Sydney Children’s Hospital.  
• Appointments are assigned according to priority. 

Urgent referrals

These must be discussed with either the Urology Fellow/Registrar or consultant on call via the switch board (02) 9382 1111.

Follow-up and post-operative bookings

• Please book with Outpatients on (02) 9382 1470.
• You'll need either a current referral from your GP (referral valid for 12 months), paediatrician (referral valid 3 months) or other referring specialist (valid for 3 months).
