Weight management

What is weight management?

Weight management is a long-term approach to a healthy lifestyle. It includes a balance of healthy eating and physical exercise.

How do we help children and teenagers who need help managing their weight?

The Weight Management Services (WMS) at The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) is a national leader in the management of obesity in children and adolescents across clinical service, health professional training and research. It provides tertiary and quaternary services to severely obese children and adolescents as well as health training programs to health professionals both in the CHW and to external service providers e.g. General Practitioners.

There are no designated obesity services provided at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.
