Grant for revolutionary technology

A team of researchers at The Children's Hospital at Westmead have been successful in the 2014 round of grants from the NSW Government’s Medical Devices Fund for ground-breaking medical technologies. Led by A/Professor David Little, the team has developed a revolutionary paediatric implant to treat children born with brittle bones or malformed legs. The new implant provides constant stability and support to the leg at the same time as correcting the underlying deformity. The technology behind the implant can also be applied to other conditions such as spinal disorders, where both stability and movement are needed.
