Professor Elizabeth Elliott awarded Next Gen Fellowship
Today, the Minister for Health, Greg Hunt announced Professor Elizabeth Elliott AM FAHMS, has been awarded a Next Generation Fellowship from the Federal Government.
The fellowships were awarded to some of Australia’s world-class medical researchers, “to ensure the best and brightest minds…make the breakthroughs of tomorrow.” Professor Elliott was awarded $577,188: the highest share of the total $10 million Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).
Elizabeth is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for ill and disadvantaged children. Her Fellowship will focus on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of rare childhood diseases, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and vaccine-preventable disease.
Alongside her newest accolade, Professor Elliott is a Distinguished Professor of Paediatrics & Child Health at the University of Sydney, Consultant Paediatrician at The Sydney Children's Hospital Network at Westmead, and a Fellowship of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.
