Welcome to our 2018 new graduates

This week both our hospitals welcomed a record number of new Graduate Nurses and Junior Medical Officers for 2018.

98 Nurses and 55 Junior Medical Officers began their health careers at both Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The Children's Hospital at Westmead on Monday.

Among the new starters were Annelise Dimond and Maddison Fitzgibbon who now work as Registered Nurses in Edgar Stephen Ward at The Childen’s Hospital at Westmead.

Having completed work placement at The Hospital previously, both Annelise and Maddison were delighted when they heard they would be beginning their nursing careers there.

“I always wanted to work in paediatrics and to get to work with the kids here is pretty special.” Maddison said.

Annelise agreed and said working with kids had always been a big passion of hers, “The Children’s Hospital at Westmead was always my first preference as I had heard great things about the new graduate program here.”

While the graduate Nurses and Midwives will remain at our hospitals, the new Junior Medical Officers will take part in a two year internship splitting their time across metropolitan, regional and rural hospitals.

If you see any of our new staff members wandering the halls of please say hello and welcome them to our team.

Congratulations to all our new recruits.
