2018 Youth Arts Program
The Children's Hospital at Westmead looked more like an art gallery than a hospital with the annual Youth Arts Competition being held last week.
The corridors were filled with dozens of bright and colourful artworks for this years kaleidoscopic theme.
87 artworks were submitted by 56 entrants this year, with 13 winners announced last Friday.
All eyes were on Ashley Tkacz, when her drawing "Dreamtime Emu" which was announced the overall winner on the day.
Ashley said she originally started drawing the emu as a gift for her brother but added the colourful theme after hearing about the competition.
Her artwork, along with the other entries, now hang in our Hospital for the enjoyment of all our patients helping to brighten our Adolescent Medicine corridor.
Congratulations Ashley and well done to everyone who participated and voted this year.
