Gold Telethon raises $6.15 million for SCH

This year marked 10 years of the Gold Telethon and what a way to celebrate, with $6,115,976 raised for sick children at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (SCH) – the highest total in the Telethon’s history.

The all-day Channel 9 broadcast showcased stories of courage and hope, from some of the SCH’s youngest and bravest children and their families. The day ended with a special edition of Hotseat Millionaire, with a team of staff from Randwick helping drive donations to the Telethon.

David Campbell hosted this year’s telethon ‘pyjama party’, along with 10-year-old SCH patient Ollie who returned as the courageous face of the Gold Telethon for 2019. Voice superstar coaches Delta Goodrem, Boy George, Kelly Rowland and Guy Sebastian joined the fun, as did a team of well-known Ch 9 celebrities.

Special thanks must go to the teams at the Nine Network, the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation and staff across SCH for helping make the Telethon such a success.

As always, the biggest winners were the thousands of children and families cared for at SCH. Funds raised from this year’s Telethon will be used to purchase the latest equipment, fund ground-breaking medical research and support vital services.

It’s not too late to donate. Anyone wishing to support the work of the Hospital, can still make a donation!
