Kids Emergency at Westmead is moving to a new home

Healthcare across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network will be transformed in March with the opening of services in Westmead’s Central Acute Services Building (CASB).

Our Children’s Emergency Department at Westmead will move into the new building next month and provide fast-tracked service to ensure our patients are treated quickly and safely in an environment that has been built for the future.

The children’s departments in the CASB (Block K) are located on the main entry level of the building (level 2), with access to operating theatres located on the floor above.

Services within the new building include:

  • Emergency Department (ED)
  • Children’s Short Stay Unit (CSSU)
  • Additional Medical Imaging and pharmacy departments to service the ED and CSSU
  • Additional digital operating theatres
