Biomedical engineer wins top science award
Dr Tegan Cheng, Biomedical Engineer, scientist and Group Leader of the EPIC Lab in Kids Research at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, is the recipient of the 2021 Young Tall Poppy Science Award.
The annual awards by the Australian Institute of Policy and Science, recognises and celebrates the work of early career scientists leading in their field.
Dr Cheng was recognised for her research and development of 3D printing ankle-foot orthoses for children with musculoskeletal conditions.
"I am so excited to take part in the Tall Poppies program and share my love of science and engineering with everyone who will listen,” Dr. Cheng said.
The Young Tall Poppy Science Award provides winners the opportunity to speak about their research and promote their work through various outreach opportunities to school students, teachers and the wider community.
The Network extends its congratulations to Dr. Cheng on this incredible achievement!
