Digital photo competition - People's Choice voting now open
A photo of one-year-old Louis and his five-year-old sister Lilah enjoying the water at Symbio Wildlife Park is one of the almost 180 entries that caught the eye of Photo Finish judges this year.
The kids were having the best time. Louis is our Heart Kid and had his heart surgery at Westmead,” Louis’ mum Amy said in her entry.
“We spent many weeks walking the halls (of the hospital) and really loved all the beautiful art.”
The photo, titled ‘Our Water Babies’, is one of the finalists of The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) digital photo competition’s newest category ‘The Water Around Us’, which links to the interior design concepts of our two redevelopment projects.
This year’s Photo Finish judges were SCHN Chief Executive Cathryn Cox PSM, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation Acting CEO Kate Ferguson, Health Infrastructure Senior Project Director Kevin Maclennan and guest judge Kristina, from the hospital’s Chronic Illness Peer Support Group (ChIPS).
The quality of entries this year was exceptional. The judges and I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the creative work submitted by valued members of our hospital communities and thank everyone for their efforts," said SCHN Chief Executive Cathryn Cox PSM.
"While selecting finalists was challenging, the photos we chose memorably captured the surrounding nature or photo subject. I believe the images will help brighten the walls of our hospitals for patients, families and our staff and volunteers.”
The judges narrowed down the incredible photo entries to just 17 finalists, whose photos will be proudly exhibited at both hospitals. You can have a look through the full catalogue of finalists and vote for the People's Choice winner by 'liking' your favourite photo on Facebook:
