For families

  • Celebrating Mother's Day

This Mother’s Day will be a little different, with restrictions limiting the way we celebrate such an important day. Despite the challenges, the sentiment remains - even more so in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

  • Flu vaccinations for children

With flu season approaching, now is a good time to have your child vaccinated. Influenza vaccination is recommended for children aged 6 months and older.
  • Elective surgery to recommence

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a number of essential changes across our hospitals, including the government mandated need to reduce elective surgery. On 21 April, the Prime Minister announced that some elective surgery restrictions would be lifted across Australian hospitals, and we are now working to gradually reinstate elective surgery in a way that is considered safe, and in the best interests of patients, families and staff.
  • Supporting siblings through COVID-19

While the world’s attention is firmly focused on COVID-19 on a global scale, sometimes the smaller and not so obvious impacts can be overshadowed despite the lasting effects. March this year saw new measures put in place to protect patients and their families at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick (SCH) and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW) from contracting COVID-19, impacting sibling visits.
  • Visitor screening - To keep everyone safe

We are committed to protecting our patients, families and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the situation develops, new practices are being implemented to ensure the health and safety of our vulnerable children, families and staff.
