Open to patients and their siblings, the Book Bunker at Westmead is every bookworm's dream. With over 20,000 books available to borrow, there's something for kids and teens of all ages.

Patients can borrow books to read in their room or while they wait for your appointment. One of our dedicated volunteers can help your child find what they want. The Book Bunker is also a cozy escape where kids and teens can pull up a bean bag, get comfy and get lost in their favourite book.

If your child is unable to leave the ward, you can phone the Book Bunker from your bedside phone and the librarian will bring books to you.

The Book Bunker trolley also visits wards from time to time with a selection of books to choose from.
