Lymphomas are solid tumours that affect the lymphatic system, which is part of the body’s immune system.
It keeps body fluid levels in balance and helps the body fight infections. It often spreads to other ograns before being detected.
The two main types are:
- Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (NHL) - more common than Hodgkins Disease and has many features in common with leukaemia
- Hodgkin’s Disease (HD) - usually presents as enlargement of the lymph glands which are in the neck, chest, armpits and groin.
