Sarcoma
Sarcoma
Soft tissue sarcomas can occur anywhere in the body because it develops in the muscle tissue. It is often fast growing and can spread to other parts of the body.
Rhabdosarcoma accounts for about half of soft tissue sarcomas.
The four most common locations are:
- head and neck; around the eyes
- genitourinary tract (kidney, bladder)
- extremities (legs, arms)
- chest and lungs
Kids can develop it at any age, but most cases are in kids between 2 and 6 years old and 15 and 19 years old. With early detection and timely treatment, most kids make a full recovery.
