About our service

We provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis in NSW. Services are provided by a team of physicians, clinical nurse consultants, dieticians, physiotherapists and social workers. 

Our services include:

  • inpatient services
  • CF outpatient Treatment Centre
  • new diagnosis education, and ongoing management and support
  • outreach service including school and home visits
  • community liaison
  • weekly CF outpatient clinic (age related)
  • clinical research
  • outpatient CF telephone service (office hours) provided by CNCs
  • facilitation of CF family support groups
  • education evenings for families
  • education of medical and allied health professionals providing care for CF patients.

Our aim is to help to improve the life of  children with Cystic Fibrosis through facilities, equipment, medication and research.

Referral process for clinicians

Our department is using Consultmed to manage referrals. The Consultmed platform allows health professionals to send e-referrals to us securely.

Newly diagnosed patients and Cystic fibrosis treatment centre appointments can be referred to the cystic fibrosis service by contacting the cystic fibrosis clinical nurse consultant via the hospital switchboard in office hours on (02) 7825 0000.

Referral and appointment process for parents and carers

Request a referral

To make an appointment at our clinic, you will need a referral from your GP, paediatrician or specialist. 

They will assess your child, discuss your concerns, and make a referral to the appropriate service.  

Clinic appointments can be made by existing patients by phoning (02) 7825 2292 or (02) 7825 2525.

Track your referral

Our department uses Consultmed to manage referrals. Your referring clinician sends the e-referral to us using the secure Consultmed platform.  

Once we receive the referral, we will send you an email with your tracking information. We will update you as we process the referral and book your appointment. 

To receive these updates, please ask your referring clinician to include your email on the referral.
