Liver functions
The liver is the biggest gland in the body.
It is a soft, reddish brown organ that sits in your abdomen. It is on the right side of the body, just under the rib cage.
The liver is divided into two major parts called lobes.
Between the lobes are many blood vessels that bring fresh blood into your liver.
There is also a little ‘bag’ attached to your liver called the gall bladder. The gall bladder stores a special fluid called bile.
The liver is a very important part of your body. You need a healthy liver to grow.
