    It takes a very special person to be a volunteer, and this week as part of NSW Health Volunteer Appreciation Day, the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network celebrated the hundreds of volunteers who go above and beyond for sick kids and their families.
  • Hospital Makes History

    The Children’s Hospital at Westmead has marked a major milestone after performing 150 life-saving kidney transplants. Head of Nephrology, Professor Stephen Alexander joined the Hospital’s surgeons and renal team, transplant recipients and their families to celebrate the occasion.  

  • Research funding

    Minister for Health and Medical Research, Jillian Skinner, recently announced four teams of researchers will share $2.72 million to explore better treatments for cancer, mitochondrial disease, inherited heart disease in babies and schizophrenia.

  • Landmark Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Study

    Professor Elizabeth Elliott, AM, Consultant Paediatrician and Director of the Australian Paediatric Surveillance Unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and Professor in Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Sydney, was a Chief Investigator in a recent landmark health study.
