Fee structure

• Update or simple assessment or assessment on documents only. As negotiated 
• Payment capped at 10 hours clinical work ($1540)

• Basic assessment or update 
• Payment based on 25 hours clinical work ($3850), as determined by the Director or delegate in consultation with the clinician

• Payment based on estimated at 36 hours clinical work ($5544), as determined by the Director or delegate in consultation with the clinician

• Payment based on 40 hours clinical work ($6160) as determined by the Director or delegate in consultation with the clinician

• Very complex Assessment Report including significant number of issues, large and complex family with children and parents with significant medical / development/ psychosocial issues 
• Payment based on 50 hours clinical work ($7700), as determined by the Director or delegate in consultation with the clinician

• If an assessment does not proceed, for example because a client does not attend an agreed appointment that has been reconfirmed beforehand, or for other reasons, an Authorised Clinician may complete a Nil Report (see AC Handbook s.3.9).
• Payment will be at the rate of $154 per hour. Discussion with the Director of Children’s Court Clinic is required.

Description

Fees in the above tabble are inclusive of one hour of travel time. Travel time after the first hour will be paid at $88 per hour inclusive of GST on a pro rata basis.

Payment cap

Travel time more than an initial one hour will be paid at $88 per hour pro rata. Costs for fares, petrol, car hire, overnight accommodation and meals must be pre-approved by the Director Children’s Court Clinic. 

A log of travel time and distance and expenses will need to be submitted with receipts and attached to the specific invoice being developed. 

If travel  fees are expected to be $5000 or more, pre-authorisation is required to be obtained by the Director or delegate from the SCHN Clinical Program Director of Priority Populations SCHN.

If pre-authorisation is not obtained, payment for travel will be capped at 1 hour of included travel time + 2 hours.

Travel time is $88 per hour and in accordance with travel costs as per this table. Court attendance is payable at the hourly rate of $154 up to 3 hours without further authorisation. Preparatory reading is payable at the hourly rate of $154, up to 5 hours without further authorisation.

Payment cap

Court attendance minimum amount payable is 3 hours clinical work at $154 per hour. Minimum amount payable of 3 hours clinical work applies if court attendance occurs but appearance is cancelled or court attendance occurs but is less than 3 hours duration.

If fees for court attendance combined with preparatory reading fees are expected to exceed 8 hours of clinical work, the Director Children’s Court Clinic must be notified prior to incurring costs, (or during proceedings) and where costs are expected to be $5000 or more, pre-authorisation is required from the Clinical Program Director of Priority Populations SCHN. 

If pre-authorisation is not obtained, payment for court attendance combined with preparatory reading will be capped at 8 hours clinical work.
