Setting the standard for clinical trials
Setting the standard for clinical trials
Strategic priority: Leverage research, innovation and technology

The Network achieved accreditation to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in May 2024 following a short notice accreditation assessment in February. As part of the assessment, the Network completed its first clinical trial service evaluation within the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework. The framework aims to integrate research into clinical care, ensuring safe, high-quality clinical trials for better health outcomes.
The Network’s clinical trial service was evaluated against key standards relating to clinical outcomes and partnering with consumers. A clinical trial sponsorship committee and sponsorship policy were established to outline the review and approval process for clinical trials seeking Network sponsorship. This process ensures proper oversight of all Network-sponsored clinical trials.
