Sydney Children's Hospital (Stage 1) and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre

The $658 million Sydney Children’s Hosptial Stage 1 and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre redevelopment is underway, paving the way for Randwick to be home to a state-of-the-art paediatric health, medical research and education hub.

The new hospital and research centre will be in the Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct, offering new and expanded paediatric services, including a greatly expanded emergency department, a new medical short-stay unit, and a neurosciences centre.

The Minderoo Children's Comprehensive Cancer Centre will be the first facility of its type in the country - revolutionising childhood cancer research and treatment in Australia.

Family-centred treatment and support are at the heart of the hospital's design, with additional private spaces, recreation and food preparation areas included, and the introduction of single patient bedrooms across the service.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2025 and is being delivered with the support of builder John Holland Group, in partnership with Health Infrastructure, Children's Cancer Institute and UNSW.
