Connect, Pause and Reflect group session guide

What are reflective practice sessions?

The Connect, Pause and Reflect reflective practice sessions:

  • foster a culture of reflection rather than teaching, advice-giving, correcting, problem-solving or attempting to fix others
  • focus on the shared experience of delivering care
  • are a supportive meeting of equals where all members contribute and feel valued
  • aim to empower clinicians, increase insight, reduce isolation and promote personal and professional growth
  • make space for alternative perspectives, shared understanding, trust and openness
  • are not intended to be therapy sessions, even though sessions may be therapeutic and meet the restorative needs of clinicians
  • are not the forum to discuss issues around internal politics, operational issues, process or policy.

If you or someone in your team would like to facilitate a group session, refer to the information on how to set up and run the sessions.
