As the largest paediatric health care service in Australia, the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network incorporates two tertiary paediatric hospitals; The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH); Bear Cottage, the only paediatric hospice in NSW; the statewide paediatric emergency retrieval service, Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS) and the Children's Court Clinic, a court assessment service. We also operate paediatric translational research through our research body, Kids Research (KR), leading revolutionary research to inform clinical practice, improve health outcomes and help children and young people live their best and healthiest lives.

It was a significant milestone for paediatric services in NSW when the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network was formed in 2010. The role of the network is to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for children with complex medical needs. It allowed a framework to not only to enhance paediatric clinical care across the state, but also further groundbreaking research in paediatrics, invest in education and training of a health workforce and build advocacy for a healthy future for children.

Our patients have access to the best facilities, with speciality care services available for conditions such as cancer, heart problems, severe burns, HIV/AIDS and children needing organ, bone marrow or cord blood transplants. We are a team of more than 8,000 staff, providing world-class paediatric health care, transforming the health and wellbeing of children and young people now, and into the future.
