What is a subpoena?
A subpoena to produce is a formal court order compelling the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) to deliver specific documents, records, or physical items relevant to a legal case to the court. Failure to comply can lead to serious penalties like contempt of court. We carefully review every subpoena and only share information when required by law, while taking steps to protect patient privacy.
Sending a subpoena
If you represent an agency and need to subpoena a medical record from SCHN, please deliver it in person or post it directly to Release of Information (ROI) Unit at the following street or postal addresses.
Where court approval for electronic service has been granted, subpoenas may be emailed to: SCHN-ROI@health.nsw.gov.au.
