Respiratory Research

Our team of clinician-researchers and dedicated research staff target better health outcomes for kids with important conditions (e.g. asthma, cystic fibrosis) and those with/at risk of respiratory complications of important conditions arising in other body systems (e.g. congenital heart disease, bone marrow transplantation).

Our translational research spans:

  • Describing the impact of respiratory involvement on important health outcomes
  • Understanding the physiological mechanisms driving respiratory impairment
  • Exploring structure-function relationships
  • Development and optimisation of new techniques to detect early disease and monitor the disease once established
  • Pharmaceutical company-sponsored and investigator-led clinical trials

We conduct research at Kids Research and within our clinics at Children's Hospital Westmead.

Keep an eye out for information on the website and within the clinics about our studies and please let us know if you would like to take part.
