Wattle Building Inpatient Units
Each Inpatient Unit (IPU) is designed to enhance patient care and staff efficiency.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Single patient rooms: designed for privacy and comfort, each room includes a parent bed, ensuite, storage and most with a desk.
- Staff stations and touchdown points: strategically located to increase visibility of patients and bring staff closer to the patient.
- Clinical workrooms: equipped with a patient journey board and computer to provide a flexible workspace for clinicians.
- Interview rooms: for private discussions with patients, families, and staff.
- Quiet room: a space for patients and families to access for school or work requirements.
- One parent overnight room: allows an additional family member to stay overnight in the IPU.
- Medication room: all contain automated dispensing cabinets to safely increase efficient medication administration.
- Procedure room: for minor procedures and treatments.
- Storage rooms: for storing medical and clinical supplies.
- Dirty utility rooms: for the handling and disposal of used materials.
- Food pantry and formula room.
Shared spaces on each floor:
- Large meeting room: for team meetings and multidisciplinary discussions.
- Staff room: a break area for staff to rest and recharge.
- Allied Health therapy room: dedicated space for Allied Health professionals to provide therapy services.
- Adolescent recreation room: a space for young people to engage in recreational activities.
- Playroom: a room designed to entertain and engage younger patients.
- Parent lounge: a comfortable area for parents to relax and connect with other families.
