Patient meals and food outlets at Randwick
KidsCHEF
From 18 November, families will be able to order your child’s meals and snacks online using KidsCHEF.
How to order meals
For families staying in the new Bilima building (Building B), you can:
- use TED (The Entertainment Device) at the bedside, or
- visit the KidsCHEF website and download the app
For families staying in the Children's building (Building C), please visit the KidsCHEF website and download the app.
To make an order you need:
- Your facility ID = SCHN
- Your Area Unique Identifier (AUID). The AUID is on your previous meal tray tickets.
If you can’t find your AUID, please ask a staff member.
KidsCHEF is a NSW HealthShare NSW initiative aimed at improving nutrition and meal enjoyment by providing onsite meal preparation with a focus on fresh and healthy ingredients.
We understand that the food is often different to home cooked meals, so you are welcome to bring in additional items from home as long as you comply with any dietary restrictions the doctors have requested.
If your child is in hospital for a short stay, such as overnight, standard bedside meal ordering might not occur as the process takes some time to set up.
Dietary assistants and dietitians are available to answer your questions or help with any special dietary needs.
Please note:
- Never give food or drink to your child if there is a ‘Nil by Mouth’ or ‘NBM’ notice on the bed. This could be dangerous for your child.
- Never give food or drink to any child other than your own.
