Tests and procedures

Cancers have to reach a certain size before they can be detected with tests.

There are many procedures and tests that can be done to see if cancer cells are present in the body.

Depending on your child's symptoms and type of cancer, your child may have one or a combination of these tests.

For any test, your healthcare team will help you understand:

  • why the test is being done
  • what it will feel like
  • if there are any risks
  • how to comfort your child during the test.
