Starlight Express Room: Captain Starlight's Eggs-ellent Eggs-hibition
Starlight’s EGGcellent Art EGGShibition provided young people an opportunity to explore their imagination by creating a world of their own.
Captain Starlight has the egg-straordinary privilege of blasting down to Planet Earth every day, but being newly hatched on Earth, we need the superstars of Westmead Children’s Hospital to tell us what is so great about their planet!
From Super Mario, to Pokemon, to Squishmallows, to Harry Potter and many more, all before blasting back to Planet Starlight at the end of a fun filled day.
We Are Studios: Flow, moon and sun
Established in 2023, We Are Studios is a 100% disability-led, artist-run initiative that empowers Western Sydney artists with disability to reach their creative potential by providing space to thrive professionally, artistically and socially.
This exhibition features work by eight We Are Studios artists who have diverse artistic practices and respond to different aspects of their daily life. A reoccurring and uniting theme is the joy that every artist feels in illustrating their life experience and sharing their artistic journey.
Operation Art
The Operation Art program invites students from years K-10 across NSW each year to create an artwork for their peers in hospital, to help brighten their day and uplift their spirits.
For almost 30 years, the program has seen young people produce endearing and heart-warming artworks on display in the hospital.
The finalists' artworks become part of the permanent art collection around the hospital after they are exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW.
Operation Art is an initiative of The Children's Hospital at Westmead, the New South Wales Department of Education and Training and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Photo Finish
Photo Finish is an annual photography competition.
The competition is open to families, patients and staff.
