Western Sydney Youth Cancer Service

The Western Sydney Youth Cancer Service (WSYCS) is a specialised service for adolescents and young adults aged 15-25 years who have been diagnosed with cancer.

The WSYCS is a multidisciplinary team (medical, nursing and psychosocial specialists) who are trained in meeting the needs of young people going through cancer treatment.

There is a dedicated clinic every second Monday, 3-5pm in the oncology outpatient clinics at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. 

WSYCS services

  • provide medical expertise in cancers found in young people
  • cancer related education for family, friends and schools. 
  • referrals to other support services
  • information about fertility and sexuality
  • support from professionals to help young people manage living with cancer.
